Scope and Content: One multiplication table hand written by Ruth Josselyn in 1792 when she was 12 years old.

Biographical Sketch: Ruth Josselyn was born on April 1, 1779, to Stockbridge Josselyn (b. 1741) and Olive Standish (b. 1748) in Hanover, MA. She had four brothers: Seth (b. 1782), James (b. 1785), Christopher (b. 1788), and Amherst (b. 1791).

In 1798, Ruth Josselyn married Capt. Daniel Hall (b. 1772). Together they had eight children: Daniel, Ruth, Olive, Mary, Caroline, George, James and William. The family resided in the Hall Tavern in Hall’s Corner (house since been moved to Cambridge). Ruth Josselyn Hall died on March 1, 1873, at the age of 93, of “old age,” in Duxbury, MA.
