Scope and Content
The collection consists of three items donated by William Taylor, all relating to the Bradford Family. Three photographs of the interior of the Bradford House at 931 Tremont Street, Duxbury, are mounted on a single card. These interior images show the house as it was arranged in the early 20th century. A journal or ship’s log written by Capt. Daniel Bradford, the nephew of Capt. Gershom and Sally Bradford, describes Daniel Bradford’s voyages to Manila, Honolulu, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Europe (1868-1876) aboard the Nehemiah Gibson and the Crusader. Also included is a notebook belonging to Gershom Bradford II, the grandson of Capt. Gershom and Sally Bradford. This notebook, entitled “Oyster Notes” (1880), was created while Bradford was in the U. S. Coastal Survey.
