Ship Registers

Ship Registers District of Plymouth 1789-1908 (1939)

Scope and Content: One volume entitled Ship Registers District of Plymouth 1789-1908, Compiled from original documents stored in the Plymouth Custom House and in he National Archives.  The volume was part of the National Archives Project of the Works Progress Administration during the Great Depression.

The volume gives a listing of all ships built in Duxbury and the surrounding towns.  Also included in each entry is the date of registration, the owner’s name, the master’s name, the size of the ship and where it was registered.

The volume as given to the DRHS by Edwin Facey (son of William Facey and Mabel Cushing) in 1965.
