Scope & Content:
One handwritten contract between Frederick B. Knapp of Duxbury and Walter Hammond of Kingston for a building on Powder Point, 1887. The red notes apply to a house built by Eugene Soule.

Biographical Note:
Frederick Bradford Knapp (1857-1932) was the headmaster and owner of Powder Point School for Boys located at the former King Caesar estate on Powder Point. He and his wife, Fannie Hall Knapp, were also real estate developers, selling land on Powder Point, Abrams Hill and other locations in Duxbury.

Walter C. Hammond (1852-1935) was a carpenter from Kingston, MA.

Eugene T. Soule (1851-1933) was the son of Thomas Soule and Caroline Sampson. He was born and raised in Duxbury and worked as a carpenter and builder.
